Help Set Up KnowledgeNet Chapters

If you are excited about the opportunity to network with privacy pros in your area, this is your chance to get involved and make it happen.

Volunteer to chair your local chapter

KnowledgeNet Chapter chairs organize activities in their cities. As a chair, you will take care of planning approximately four educational meetings per year, in addition to networking gatherings. This includes coordinating expert speakers and finding donated meeting space or transitioning to virtual events as needed. The IAPP provides support through invitations, promotions and registration. Learn more about the roles and expectations. The Call for Volunteers opens every September.

Young Privacy Professionals (YPP)

Young Privacy Professionals are industry professionals with less than 10 years of work experience who are interested in the continuing education and networking initiatives offered by KnowledgeNet Chapters. YPPs seek to further their development within the industry, broaden their competency levels, and strengthen relationships and involvement with the IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter program.

With the help of local IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter co-chairs, YPPs volunteer to plan and organize networking activities for their peers. One or two YPPs are accepted per chapter (depending on the size of the chapter) and serve a one-year term. A YPP should be an IAPP member for at least six months and have attended at least one chapter meeting. Learn more about the roles and expectations. The Call for Volunteers opens every September.
